The Ministry of Defence advertised Development Fellow internship positions for Quantum Valley Pakistan (Phase-I) under the National Development Internship Program.

If you are reading this after 8 July 2026, you cannot apply to that round. The National Job Portal listing now displays “Expired”. Any website or Facebook page still telling you to apply is either not updating its content or is trying to collect your data.

This is worth stating clearly, because expired government listings circulate for months on job aggregator sites and people waste time — and sometimes money to “agents” — chasing them.

The eligibility on the Administration post, as an example, accepted a very wide range of business and management degrees (BBA in its many variants, BS Management, BS Public Administration, associate degrees, and more), with 1 year of experience and 1–2 years of relevant administrative experience preferred. Interviews and tests were to be held in Islamabad.

One restriction caught many people out: applicants who had previously participated in any other government internship programme were not eligible.

What Is Quantum Valley Pakistan?

Quantum Valley Pakistan (QVP) is the flagship initiative of the Science, Technology & Engineering for Development (STED) Programme, spearheaded by the Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Professor Ahsan Iqbal. The Ministry of Planning describes it as Pakistan’s strategic answer to Silicon Valley.

The plan includes science parks specialising in emerging fields — agri-tech, biotechnology, advanced materials, minerals, artificial intelligence, and climate resilience — with an emphasis on civil–defence fusion in R&D and fast-tracked high-tech industrialisation.

Which Ministries Are Involved

This matters for job hunting, because QVP recruitment can come from any of these:

• Ministry of Planning, Development & Special Initiatives
• Ministry of Information Technology & Telecommunication (MOITT)
• Ministry of Science and Technology
• Ministry of Defence
• National Technology Fund (Ignite)

So do not watch only one ministry. A QVP vacancy might be advertised under Defence, Planning, or MOITT depending on which component it belongs to.

How to Catch the Next Round

Phase-I is a multi-year project. More recruitment is likely — but nobody can promise you when, and you should be suspicious of anyone who does.

1. Create your NJP profile now, and complete it fully. The last round gave applicants 20 days. If your profile is already done, you can apply on day one instead of scrambling. See our complete NJP registration guide.
2. Check njp.gov.pk regularly. Filter by Internship or Consultant grade to see the relevant listings.
3. If you are under 30, act fast when it opens. The age cap had no relaxation.

Watch Out for This

High-profile government projects attract fraud. Specifically:

• Expired listings republished as “new”. Always check the deadline on njp.gov.pk itself, not on a job blog.
• “Agents” claiming Ministry of Defence connections. There is no such thing. QVP recruitment runs entirely through the National Job Portal.
• Fake application portals. They copy government branding and harvest CNIC numbers, degrees and photographs. The only legitimate site is njp.gov.pk.
• Any request for a “processing fee”. NJP applications are free.
