How to use CV Match Checker (ATS resume checker)

What an ATS actually checks
ATS (Applicant Tracking System) woh software hai jo bari companies, banks, telecom operators, multinationals aur kai job portals CVs ko sort karne ke liye istemal karte hain. - Header/footer, tables aur graphics: Bohat se ATS header/footer ka text skip kar dete hain — agar aapka naam aur phone number header mein hai to woh ghayab ho sakta hai. Tables, text boxes, columns, icons aur skill-rating bars bhi ghalat parhe jate hain. Simple single-column layout rakhein.
How the match score is calculated here
Ye tool koi AI ya hidden formula istemal nahi karta — ye aik simple, transparent keyword comparison hai jo aapke browser mein JavaScript se chalta hai. Exact process ye hai:
- Tokenising: CV aur job ad dono ka text lowercase kiya jata hai. Letters (a–z), digits (0–9), “+” aur “#” ke ilawa har character (comma, dash, slash, dot, brackets) space ban jata hai. “C++” bach jata hai, “M.Com” toot jata hai.
- Filtering: 3 se chhote alfaaz (jaise “ms”, “hr”, “it”), sirf numbers (2019, 17) aur aik stop-word list ke taqreeban 190 aam alfaaz nikal diye jate hain. Stop list mein grammar words ke saath job-ad ke generic alfaaz bhi hain (job, post, candidate, required, experience, skills, knowledge, salary, apply, interview, cnic) — is liye “experience” aur “skills” khud keyword nahi ginte.
- Keyword list: Job ad ke bache hue alfaaz ki frequency gini jati hai. Jo lafz ad mein zyada baar aaya, us ka weight utna zyada (2 baar = 2 points). Top 40 terms rakhe jate hain.
- Overlap: Har term ko CV ke alfaaz ke set mein exact dhoonda jata hai. Ye exact match hai — koi stemming nahi. “Accounting” aur “accountant” alag hain; “reconciled” aur “reconciliation” alag hain.
- Score: Score = (CV mein mile hue terms ka total weight ÷ tamam terms ka total weight) × 100, round kar ke. 75% ya zyada = “Bohat Acha Match” (green), 50–74% = “Theek Hai” (yellow), 50% se kam = “Kamzor Match” (red).
- Checklist (6 items): (1) Email — standard email pattern dhoonda jata hai; (2) Mobile number — 4 digits, phir optional space/dash, phir 6–7 digits (0300-1234567 ya 03001234567); (3) CV mein “education” ya “taleem” lafz maujood hai; (4) “experience” ya “tajurba” maujood hai; (5) “skill” maujood hai; (6) CV ki lambai 120 se 900 words ke darmiyan hai.

Tokenising aur stop-words ke baad job ad mein 18 keywords bachte hain (har aik 1 baar aaya, to har aik ka weight 1): reconciliation, communication, accounting, procedures, financial, reporting, budgeting, accounts, taxation, software, officer, command, degree, excel, audit, bps, mba, erp. Note karein ke “years”, “experience”, “skills”, “knowledge”, “required” stop-words hain aur “17” number hai — ye nahi gine gaye. “M.Com” toot kar “com” bana jo stop list mein hai, to woh bhi keyword nahi bana.
Sample CV (141 words) mein in mein se 13 mile: reconciliation, communication, accounting, financial, reporting, budgeting, accounts, taxation, software, officer, excel, audit, erp. 5 ghayab: procedures, command, degree, bps, mba. Score = 13 ÷ 18 × 100 = 72% — yellow band “Theek Hai, Behtar Ho Sakta Hai”. Checklist: email HAAN, mobile HAAN, Education HAAN, Experience HAAN, Skills HAAN, lambai HAAN (141 words).
Behtar karne ka tareeqa: candidate ke paas M.Com degree hai, to Education mein “M.Com (Master of Commerce) degree” likh dein — “degree” match ho jayega. Audit wali bullet mein “audit procedures” likhein. “MBA” tab hi likhein jab waqai MBA ho. Sirf ye do sachi tabdeeliyan score ko 15 ÷ 18 = 83% (green) par le jati hain.
Common mistakes
- Keyword stuffing: Missing keywords ko white text ya aik lambi list mein thoos dena. Recruiter interview mein pakar leta hai aur kai ATS is par CV reject karte hain. Sirf sach likhein.
- Aik hi CV har jagah: Rozee, LinkedIn aur email par wahi generic CV. Har job ke liye skills section aur summary ko ad ke alfaaz ke mutabiq badlein.
- Poora ishtihaar paste na karna: Sirf title paste karne se 2–3 keywords bante hain aur score bemaani ho jata hai. Qualification, experience aur skills wali lines zaroor shamil karein.
- Synonyms par bharosa: Ad mein “bookkeeping” hai aur CV mein “accounts maintain kiye” — insaan samajh lega, software nahi. Exact lafz likhein.
- Score ko final samajhna: 90% score bhi interview ki guarantee nahi, aur 60% ka matlab reject nahi. Ye keyword coverage ka andaza hai, fit ka faisla nahi.

Government job ke liye bhi CV check karna chahiye?
