• 4 September 2026: The application window for the FPSC advertisement (Superintendent and Assistant Director Legal) closed on 31 August 2026. FPSC has not yet published the screening test schedule for these two cases. This section will be updated the day the test date, roll number slips or result are announced.
• 11 August 2026: FPSC published Consolidated Advertisement Phase-3/2026 with 34 FIA posts — 22 Superintendent (BS-16) and 12 Assistant Director Legal (BS-17).
• 4 May 2026: The 1,394-post FIA Constable, ASI and Sub-Inspector recruitment (run through NPF-TAS) closed for applications.

FIA Jobs 2026 Test Date

FPSC conducts an MCQ-based screening test for each case number of a consolidated advertisement whenever the number of applicants is high compared to the vacancies, which is almost always the case for FIA posts. The test schedule is published on fpsc.gov.pk under “Screening Test Schedule”, normally a few weeks to a few months after the closing date, and candidates also receive an email or SMS on the contact details given in the application.

For Consolidated Advertisement Phase-3/2026 the closing date was 31 August 2026, so the earliest realistic window for the Superintendent (F.4-155/2026-R) and Assistant Director Legal (F.4-154/2026-R) screening tests is the last quarter of 2026. No date has been announced yet. The exact date will be added to the Latest Updates section above as soon as FPSC releases it — you do not need to check anywhere else.

FIA Jobs 2026 Roll Number Slip

FPSC does not post roll number slips. Once the test schedule is out, each candidate downloads the roll number slip from the FPSC online portal by logging in with the same account used to apply. The slip shows the test centre, date and reporting time. Carry the printed slip and your original CNIC to the test centre — candidates without both are not allowed to sit the test. If the slip is not visible in your account after the schedule has been announced, contact FPSC through the helpline number given on fpsc.gov.pk before the test date, not on the day.

FIA Jobs 2026 Result

FPSC announces screening test results case-wise on its website under “Results”, usually within a few weeks of the test. Candidates who qualify the screening test are called for the descriptive test or directly for a psychological assessment and interview, depending on the post. The final merit list, with the recommended candidates for Superintendent and Assistant Director Legal, is published on fpsc.gov.pk and the recommendations are forwarded to the Ministry of Interior for appointment. FIA Jobs 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Superintendent (BS-16) — 22 posts

• Education: Master’s degree (16 years of education) from an HEC-recognised university, OR a Bachelor’s degree (14 years) with two years of post-qualification experience in Accounts or Administration.
• Age: 20 to 28 years, plus the general 5-year age relaxation admissible under government rules.

Assistant Director Legal (BS-17) — 12 posts

• Education: LLB degree in at least Second Class or Grade C from an HEC-recognised institution.
• Experience: Two years of relevant legal practice or prosecution experience after qualification.
• Age: 22 to 30 years, plus the general 5-year age relaxation admissible under government rules.

FIA Screening Test Syllabus and Preparation

FPSC screening tests for BS-16 and BS-17 posts are MCQ papers of 100 marks. Roughly 20 to 40 marks are drawn from general topics — English, general knowledge, Pakistan affairs, Islamic studies or ethics, current affairs and everyday science — and the rest from the professional subject of the post: accounts, administration and office procedures for Superintendent, and constitutional, criminal and procedural law for Assistant Director Legal. FIA Constable, ASI and Sub-Inspector Recruitment — Status and Next Advertisement

The mass recruitment most candidates search for was advertised earlier in 2026 and run through the National Police Foundation Testing and Assessment Service (NPF-TAS), not FPSC. It covered 1,394 posts in 9 categories, and its application window closed on 4 May 2026:

The next FIA constable and ASI drive has not been announced. When it opens it will be published on fia.gov.pk and the NPF-TAS portal, and this page will carry the full advertisement the same day. Candidates planning for it should note the physical standards used in FIA recruitment: minimum height 5 feet 6 inches for men and 5 feet 4 inches for women, chest 33 x 34.5 inches for men, and a 1.6 km run in 7 minutes for men or 10 minutes for women. Education ranges from Matric (2nd division) for Constable to a Bachelor’s degree (2nd division, HEC-recognised) for ASI and Sub-Inspector.
